My name is Molly and I&amp;#8217;m 18 years old. This is a little about me and why I&amp;#8217;m doing what I doing in order to become healthier. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ever since I was younger I have been very active and my favorite thing to do was run. At the age of six my dad signed my brothers and I up to play in a community soccer league. He told us that we all had to try it for at least one season and then we could quit if we wanted to. My brothers weren&amp;#8217;t really into it and once the season was over, they dropped it immediately and focused on other sports. I, however, loved it and decided to stick with it. I played for 8 years, but once I reached high school I decided to quit due to the fact that I wasn&amp;#8217;t interested in playing in high school because everyone gets way too competitive. I was more into having fun and just being able to run all the time. So once I quit I started focusing my time on other matters like band (nerdy, I know) and then school. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Let me just say that I have always been relatively small. I have always kept my weight around 100, but there are times when I can tell that I have become quite unhealthy. About two summers ago I reached 111 and for some reason I was mortified. I know that&amp;#8217;s not heavy, but I wasn&amp;#8217;t taking care of myself that summer. I was eating whatever I wanted and I was just sitting around. I wouldn&amp;#8217;t work out or do anything active for that matter. So I could feel that I was putting on some weight that wasn&amp;#8217;t exactly classified as muscle. When school started again though I lost all the weight from walking so much and from not being able to eat enough each day due to my dislike for breakfast, school lunch, class, and my lack of a car. That&amp;#8217;s always how it&amp;#8217;s been though. My dad scolds me for not eating when I go back to school because my acid reflux would kick in due to lack of food and stress. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now I usually weigh between 100 and 103 pounds depending on the time of day and everything. I don&amp;#8217;t really have any desire to lose weight, but to maintain my current weight. I am interested in toning my body more than anything. Most people give me dirty looks when I say I want to eat healthier or workout more as if they don&amp;#8217;t understand and I don&amp;#8217;t need to. It&amp;#8217;s not always about losing weight. I want to feel good about myself and know that I do have some muscle and I can run a mile without feeling like I&amp;#8217;m going to die. Also, I have had major struggles with my skin and acne all throughout my high school career. I have found that by eating healthier, drinking more water, and exercising that it actually has improved my complexion. It&amp;#8217;s definitely a huge motivator that makes me want to continue to healthy choices. I am about to go into my Freshman year at college and I have heard all of the terrifying stories of people putting on weight once they get into college, and I do not want to be one of those people. That&amp;#8217;s why I am starting to workout and eat healthier this summer so I can be in some sort of shape and routine that I can maintain when I do go off to college. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What I&amp;#8217;ve being doing so far:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Stopped drinking soda back in November.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Stopped eating any sort of sweets (ice cream, cake, candy, etc.) back in January. I am lactose intolerant and I found that dairy products actually made my complexion worse. After awhile I stopped having any sort of sweets in order to guarantee it wouldn&amp;#8217;t hurt my skin or my body.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Started drinking at least two bottles of water a day. I absolutely hate water, so to me this is a major accomplishment.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Started going on a run/walk for at least an hour every morning (unless I have work, then I usually try to fit it into my schedule later in the day).&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;At least 200 sit ups after I come home from running.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A arms, legs, and core routine that consist of little exercises in order to start preparing and warming up my body.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Limiting my calorie intake.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;The things I have been doing so far seems short and limited because I just recently started getting into the swing of my workouts and I&amp;#8217;m trying to take it slow. Right now that goal is to continue running everyday and to get a gym membership soon so that I can strengthen my arms and legs with more efficient machines. &lt;/p&gt;
